I would like to extend my greetings and heartfelt gratitude
to all South Africans, tourists, traders and investors,
as well as friends and future friends of South Africa,
who hold the country in high esteem. It is through these
relationships that South Africa has become a prominent
global player in various fields. South Africa is currently
considered worldwide as a thriving economy with a range
of opportunities for trade, investment and tourism.
The website is therefore aimed at updating various
stakeholders about current developments and opportunities
and also about services that the Mission provides to
the broader community.
I arrived in December 2005 as South Africa’s
first Consul General to serve Dubai and the Northern
Emirates. It is my firm belief that the full range and
potential of trade, investment and tourism opportunities
between South Africa and the UAE have yet to be exploited.
The Mission is geared to facilitate various existing
opportunities in this regard. These opportunities include
those related to South Africa’s hosting of the
2010 FIFA Soccer World Cup.
To the vibrant and growing South African community
in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, the Mission values
the many opportunities to interact with you, especially
through the Warden System and the South African Family
Day which commemorates Freedom Day. The latter has also
become popular with the local community.
As a Mission we embrace the “Batho Pele”
principle, which means “People First”. We
therefore strive for excellence in service delivery
and would therefore welcome your questions, comments
and suggestions.
